Questions about this tool
How much smaller will my photos get?
Phone photos usually shrink by 60 to 90 percent at the default quality and look the same on screen. You'll see the exact size of every file in the results.
What happens to the hidden data in my photos?
Saving as JPG or WebP strips the EXIF data, which includes GPS location, camera model and timestamps. Worth knowing if you're posting photos publicly.
Why didn't my PNG get smaller?
PNG is lossless, so the quality slider doesn't do anything. Set a max width to shrink its dimensions, or convert it to JPG or WebP for a big saving.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Your browser's own image engine does the compression on your device, which is also why it's fast.
