Questions about this tool
How is reading time calculated?
Reading time assumes about 220 words per minute (average adult silent reading); speaking time assumes about 130 wpm, a comfortable presentation pace. Both are estimates to plan against, not stopwatch guarantees.
Does it work for character-limited platforms?
Yes — the character counts (with and without spaces) update live, so you can trim a bio, ad, or meta description to an exact limit as you type.
What counts as a sentence or paragraph?
Sentences are split on ., ! and ? endings; paragraphs on blank lines. Text without ending punctuation still counts as one sentence rather than zero.
Is my text saved or sent anywhere?
No. Counting happens in your browser as you type; nothing is transmitted or stored. Paste confidential drafts freely.
